The journey continues amidst the stars of the constellations of Paolo and Tiziana's memories. Drops of pure emotion encapsulated by the Luna collection expand into a deeper cosmos to meet the brightest, remotest stars, exploring new frontiers of artistic perfumery and pursuing the dream of Icarus to turn the fantasies of children into feathered wings. Arrakis, a binary star system in the Draco constellation, was the inspiration for this exploration into the varied spectrum of an olfactory pyramid conceived to create new light and unpredictable emotive sensations. Just as the Arrakis system is made of two counterpoised, equal stars, this fragrance has two distinct characters of contrasting intensity that reveal themselves to only the most expert connoisseur. The creation opens with an explosion of precious, elegant citrus notes predominated by the potent fragrance of grapefruit from Sicily’s Conca d’Oro. This highly prized fruit is picked from a tree known as the 'tree of paradise' due to its rare and exclusive properties. Echoing the grapefruit are other citrus notes such as Calabrian bergamot and Sorrento lemon - two precious essences from the exclusive Terenzi library. This citrus-driven characteristic embraces an ensemble of grassy herb notes, with the untamed spirit of thyme and rosemary attenuated by notes of Japanese osmanthus and Sicilian yellow saffron. The top begins with a warm, exotic embrace with precious Tahitian vetiver accentuating notes of Virginia tobacco trailing off into wood notes of Indian red patchouli and guaiac from the Antilles. This creation is founded on a heady blend of woods and oriental notes lending an incredible persistence to the citrus top notes. The base reveals Brazilian Mato Grosso tonka bean, ambergris and musk, complemented by the intense, imposing force of Cambodian oud. Arrakis is a fragrance of unexpected contrast between light and dark, with a seductive strength creating an intense comet tail of scent that will never go unnoticed.
